Affordable Counselling | Celina Cares4you

  • Sliding scale payment schemes create admin work, which adds to non-revenue generating time.

  • Overhead costs: rent, training, membership maintenance, software subscriptions

  • Priced by service type: also creates illusion that video is less valued than in-person.

  • 50% off for new clients starting 5 Jan 2026.

As a counsellor, I practice because I think I have something to offer to the world. To build sense of security, to help people find peace. I think that is my calling. Real world crashed and burnt up that little dreamcatcher the moment my part-time master’s degree began. I realised that in order to sustain myself, I’d have to take 2-3 jobs at full capacity to really be able to build that counselling main profession future.

That was really daunting for a 23 year old who just moved out.

Right now, I have a day-job and I have counselling as more or less a “side-hustle”. I cater to different clients with different types of services.

Online counselling

It has it’s own caveats. HK is known to be small and cramped. For clients to have a space where they can talk candidly about their problems, or their family… I can see why it’s difficult. Anyhow, it does solve the issue about venue rent, which significantly lowers the cost.

As such, I only charge for the service, HKD$ 500.

In-person counselling

This is mostly how I work and more aligned with what I feel most clients are looking for: connection. It’s easy to pop online to talk to someone for a while, but it feels differnet when you are saying things with a person of flesh and blood. I think it’s more the ideal situation. However, it does come with the extra burden and admin work about renting a shared venue and competing with other people for optimal timeslots. Travel time.

As such, I charge for Service (HKD$ 500) + Rental (HKD$ 100) = HKD$ 600.

I’m not a big cooperation, and I want to maintain my sanity, quality of care and cooperation with my clients. Hence, I think this payment scheme is quite fair. It’s definitely not the cheapest, but I think this helps everyone ultimately.

However, I do think that sometimes upfront payment can be daunting, especially when finding a counsellor can be difficult, it takes time, energy and really conversing to get to the point. Here are some questions you might want to bring to your first appointment:

You can ask…

  1. I’m looking for someone to help me on improving a situation / getting to know myself / discuss something I don’t understand.

  2. I have experience in counselling / I have never been to counselling before.

  3. Does it matter that I have _____ belief?

Your counsellor might want to know…

  1. In your daily life, what aspects are being impacted by your problem right now?

  2. Are you willing to do some work outside of counselling sessions?

  3. Do you have psychiatric history?

  4. What are some counselling / therapy modalities you are curious or feel aversive about?

If you are a new client, I now offer 50% off for first session. Book here now!
